Aspiring to be part of an inclusive beloved religious community, I covenant to:
EXPLORE: I will engage in our mutual search for truth and meaning with heartfelt curiosity and regard for the vulnerabilities of all, to better understand our shared experience. When there are differences, I will engage respectfully with others and listen deeply to different points of view.
LOVE: I affirm that love is an endearing and enduring force that holds us all together. I will strive to grow in love and compassion. I will commit to nurturing a climate of purposeful inclusion, celebrating the richness of diversity, so that we all feel safe and valued.
ACT: We will inspire each other to be our best selves by clarifying misunderstandings and embodying healthy relationships as a living practice of our faith and beliefs. We will honor everyone’s gifts, with the intention of learning from diverse perspectives. Recognizing the interdependent web of all existence, together we will build a better world.
We promise this to one another, and we accept our shared responsibility to commit, again and again, to lovingly return to this, our sacred covenant.
