2018 Labor Day Weekend UUFC camp out at Cascadia

Let’s Go Camping!  Register now.

We are organizing a UUFC all-ages camp out at Cascadia State Park, Friday, August 31st through Sunday, September 2nd
(two nights getting you home on Sunday, so you can attend the tuna roast on Monday Labor Day!)  Cascadia is located on the
South Santiam River, not far past Sweet Home on Highway 20 and about an hour from Corvallis.  It is nestled in a beautiful
forest, along a section of the Santiam where there is usually great swimming in late August and early September.  There
are hiking trails and a large grassy field for games.  We have reserved two adjacent group camp sites; so we can accommodate
a total of 50 people.  Camping is fairly basic (The close-by restrooms have flush toilets and sinks with running (cold) water, but no showers.
However, one can use the showers in the other camping area not far away.)

We had a very successful group camp out at Cascadia two years ago — a great time was had by all! This year we got BOTH group sites! (Last year we were unable to reserve the site — it’s a popular locale! This year we got lucky.)

Cost for camping will be approximately $12 per person for both nights (that’s $6 per night).  Children 5 or younger are free.
Also if we exceed the the 8 car per site limit, then there could be a small parking fee shared among everyone (we will be
encouraging car pooling).    If we (as a group) decided to cook any communal meals, then food costs will be shared for those meals.
There will definitely be at least one potluck.

We ask that you register with us as soon as possible, so we know whether or not we will actually need two group sites.
Your camping fee will be your deposit.  To finalize your reservation for a tent site, please do the following:
1) On a piece of paper put your contact info:  name, phone, email address and who will be sharing your tent with you.
2) Write a check for $12 per person made out to UUFC and with Cascadia Camping written on the  “for” line.
3) Place both the paper with contact info and the check in an envelope and either:  mail it to the UUFC or place it in
the wooden box labeled “UUFC contributions” in the foyer (in the 2nd case you should put “Cascadia Camping” on the outside
of the envelope).
We will need the checks by Sunday, July 22nd in order to be sure that we actually need two group sites.

We look forward to fun in the woods with you!
